The Parent Manual

Kids don’t come with a manual they say. Well, what if they did? My experience over the last 25 years of working with kids, parents, and families, is that the majority of people need not only practical guidance on how to navigate the multitude of challenges in parenting, but also a clear understanding of why one intervention is better than another. Too often parents are given an idea for an intervention to try, and then they (understandably) get frustrated when that tip or trick didn’t work as expected. After working with families for over two decades, I have seen that when parents have the underlying rationale, it becomes markedly easier to adjust and adapt in real time to meet the needs of their kid, not the kid in the IG reel or pop-culture parenting book. And those parents feel greater confidence in supporting their kid, which opens the door for greater connection. I have long struggled with the reality that I cannot possible provide this to all the people that need and want it and yet too many families are struggling without access to high quality support.

So, about a year or so ago, I decided to write a book. A manual of sorts. I am ecstatic to announce that this is now a reality and The Parent Manual: Everyday Explanations for Raising Your Kids Your Way is available for pre-order.
